Trashing Assets

Jennifer Sneider Updated by Jennifer Sneider

There are times when an Asset is accidentally created and needs to be deleted. While nothing can truly be deleted in AssetHub, you can move Assets to the Trash Bin to remove them from display.

Trashing a Single Asset

If you mistakenly turned a Transaction into an Asset and need to undo this so you can properly reconcile the Transaction, you first need to unlink the Transaction, then trash the Asset.

In some cases you may want to trash an Asset with the Transaction attached. To do that, skip to the Trashing an Asset section below.

Unlinking Transactions from an Asset

Users need the permission to unlink Assets in order to perform this action.

  1. Click the Asset on the Asset Index to open the Asset View.
  2. Click Transaction Data in the secondary navigation bar.
  3. Click the checkbox(es) in line with the Transaction(s) attached to the Asset.
  4. Click Bulk Options and then click Remove from Asset.
  5. Confirm by clicking Remove in the pop-up window.

You can now reassign the Transaction(s) to another Asset.

Trashing an Asset

To move a single Asset to the Trash Bin:

  1. Click the Asset on the Asset Index to open the Asset View.
  2. Click Asset Details in the secondary navigation bar.
  3. Click the orange Pencil icon in the top right to edit the Asset.
  4. In the pop-up window, click on the Gear icon.
  5. Click Trash Asset.
  6. A notification will appear that the Asset is now in the Trash.
