Budgeting for Miscellaneous

Jennifer Sneider Updated by Jennifer Sneider

Occasionally you may need to add expenses into your budget that to do not fall under the standard categories. In this case, you can still incorporate them by budgeting the cost as "miscellaneous". Click the Misc Budget tab on your Budget page to Budget for miscellaneous expenses.

As you add or edit miscellaneous expenses, the running total in the blue bar in the top box automatically updates.

Note: If you see a Miscellaneous category appear in your Budget, that means a new Miscellaneous Line Item was created in the Cost Report. A new Miscellaneous Line Item in the Cost Report automatically populates the Miscellaneous tab in the Budget.

Costume

For the Costume department, preset categories for Alterations, Cleaning, and Supplies are listed. If they don’t fit your needs, remove them by hovering over the name and clicking the X that appears. Add your own categories by clicking the (+) Create New button.

Misc Budgeting

Set Dec

For the Set Dec department, preset categories for Clearances, Expendables, and Research are listed. If they don’t fit your needs, remove them by hovering over the name and clicking the X that appears. Add your own categories by clicking the (+) Create New button.

Props

For the Props department, there are no preset categories. Add your own categories by clicking the (+) Create New button.

Warning: If you do not want to use a preset miscellaneous category, do NOT overwrite the name, as that causes linking issues with Money Tracking. Delete the category if you do not want to use it.
